Fix the date and book the venues, church, reception etc.. and send out save the date cards.

Start looking for the other suppliers, caterers, toastmaster, beauticians, hairdressers, DJs, bands and other entertainment. The venue can normally help with this, although it is often worth shopping around if you have the time.
10 Months to go…..
Finalise the guest list and the budget.
Ask those who you’d like to be bridesmaids, ushers and best man if they are happy to take on these roles.

Honeymoon shopping.
If the service is at a church or other venue from the reception, book the cars, coach, double-decker bus or whatever transport you decide upon.

9 Months to go….. Find a florist, and decided on a colour theme for the day. 8 Months to go….. Choose readings and poems for the service, checking they are allowed if it is a non religious ceremony. 7 Months to go….. Agree the order of serve with the minister or registrar. 6 Months to go….. If your reception venue doesn’t offer accommodation, ask local hotels about a block booking and discounts. 5 Months to go….. Decide on where you want to list and what you’d like to have on your wedding list. 4 Months to go….. A few dance lessons might help calm nerves for that first dance. 3 Months to go….. Order wedding rings. 2 Months to go….. Sent the invitations. 1 Months to go….. Get you wedding licence from your local registry office. 3 weeks to go….. Hen and stag weekends. 2 weeks to go….. Double check honeymoon arrangement, tickets, passports and order some local currency. 1 weeks to go….. Order the wedding stationary for invitations, thank-you notes, place cards, menus, order of service and the like.
Finalise those honeymoon plans, this will be done in the bride’s maiden name as you won’t of have the opportunity to alter the passport; and don’t forget to get the necessary jabs and visas.

If not leaving immediately, book a nice hotel for your first night as a couple.
Buy the outfits for the bridesmaids and hire suits for the groomsmen. You may also want to shop for a small thank you gift for them too.
